This collection contains twelve fairy tales, however critics consider some of the stories were more appropriate for adult readers due it the satirical tone and nonsensical morals attached to it.
Some of the characters in the stories are derived from the author’s earlier fantasy works such as The Life and Adventures of Santa. Some of the stories in this collection include The Box of Robbers, The Glass Dog, The Queen of Quok, The Girl Who Owned a Bear, The Enchanted Types, and The Laughing Hippopotamus.
