Synopsis

English Fairy Tales is a collection of fairy tales of England written by Flora Annie Webster Steel, an English writer who had lived in India for twenty years. Her Indian connection is reflected in most of her works especially her novel On the face of the waters, in which she described the incidents of the Indian Mutiny.  Her notable works include From the Five Rivers, Tales of the Punjab, Voices in the Night, and The Hosts of the Lord.

This collection contains more than thirty stories such as The golden snuff-box, The three feathers, The golden ball, The two sisters, The laidly worm, The black bull of Norroway, The wea bannock, and The fish and the ring.
