Though the title of this book contains the word Romance, this book is not about anything related to romance. Can any author use Mathematics to explain Philosophy or Politics? This book exactly does it. Written by a school teacher Thomas Abbot, this book was not popular as it should be, till relativity theory was published by Edison. The concept of fourth dimension ignited this satire to be read by many people.

Flatland is a two dimensional fictional world where the number of angles a figure possess decides the social status. A Square is considered as men and flat lines are considered as women.
