This is the second volume of the Mark Twain's portrayal of Joan of Arc as not Just heroine of French war.  As this book is quite different from rest of Mark Twain works, he had his own doubt in publishing it in his name. It is believed the author had personally asked the publisher to release this work anonymously, as the reader might expect this novel also to be of Twain’s trademark humor flavor.
