Synopsis

The Golden Goose book is an illustrated collection of fairy tales written and illustrated by the British illustrator Leonard Leslie Brooke, remembered for his witty illustrations and author of Johnny Crow's Garden, Ring O' Roses and Johnny Crow's Party.

This book contains four stories such as The Golden Goose; The story of the three Bears; The story of the Three Little Pigs; and Tom Thumb.

Golden Goose: Simpleton and his two elder brothers were given a task of chopping wood. Both Simpleton’s brother go to chop, but did not show mercy to an old man and they have met with an accident. While Simpleton goes for chopping, he shows mercy to the old man and gets rewarded with a golden goose which was inside the tree which had to be cut. The little goose under his arms creates a parade and they headed towards the castle. The princess, who never laughed in her life, starts laughing until she cries. Ultimately Simpleton win’s the princess heart.
