The Lady With The Dog and Other Stories is a short story written by the Russian dramatist Anton Pavlovich Chekhov.
Dmitri Gurov, a banker hails from Moscow is visiting Yalta for a vacation. He is married and live with three children, however unfaithful to his wife. During his vacationing he encounters with a woman named Anna Sergeyevna, who also vacationing, however her husband has not accompanied her to the vacation.
Dmitri and Anna become engaged and spend their rest of the vacation together. Dmitri returns to Mascow, wish to forget Anna forever, however could not erase her memories. Eventually he goes to Anna’s town to see her. In a theater he could meet her again, while her husband was away for a moment. However Anna tried to avoid him and finally told him, she will come to Moscow to meet him.
