The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, an English poet and philosopher credited as the founder of Romantic Movement in England. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is written as poem narrates the long voyage experiences of a mariner who narrates his story to a man who is on his way to attend a wedding ceremony.
Blessed with good fortunes, the sailing for the mariner and his crew was a cakewalk, till a storm moved them to Antarctica. While the crew is in despair, An albatross ( a Bird) appears in the sky and helps them to move their ship out of the dangerous Antarctica. Albatross receives applause from the crew, but much against their wish, the Marines shoots down it. On further sailing without the support of Albatross, the sail into troubles and it makes the crew to anger on the mariner and punish him to wear the dead Albatross over his neck as a sign of regret.
In the preceding incidents, the ship encounters a ghostly vessel and a deathly-pale-woman in the vessel, starts killing the crew members one by one. The Mariner is left and questioned to find the name of the woman, identifying which will save his own life, else receive the worst punishment for killing Albatross.
