Thuvia, Maid of Mars is a science fiction novel of planet fiction genre written by the American novelist Edgar Rice Burroughs, as a part of his Barsoom series of novels about Mars. This novel is the continuation of the early Barsoom series The Warlord of Mars and the protagonist is Carthoris, son of John Carter.

The novel opens up Carthoris’s sweetheart Thuvia, who is in a dilemma of her promised marriage with Kulan Tith, Jeddak of Kaol. Only death can break an engagement as per Barsoom rules. Obviously the suitor cannot be a reason for the death, which makes Carthoris’s hands tied. Meanwhile Thuvia has been kidnapped by Dusar, though the circumstances of the kidnapping blamed Carthoris. The preceding incidents narrate, whether Carthoris could rescue Thuvia and succeeds in marrying her or not.
