Dickens efforts to portray the 1780 Gordon Riots through his novel Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty did not gain much popularity as expected. The novel opens with the narration of the mystery of a murder which remains unresolved even after 22 years passed since the crime was executed. Dead body of one of the two prime suspects of the murder only jeopardizes the investigation of mysterious killing of  Reuben Haredale. Who was the murder and what was the conspiracy behind it?.
