David, now hopeless to find a caretaker for him, finally finds shelter in his only relative and eccentric aunt Betsey Trotwood. Later David marries Dora Spenlow, who dies after a miscarriage. His misfortunes come to an end with his second marriage with Agnes Wickfield, daughter of his landlord who has a true love with David.
