While writing his unusual mystery work of Hunted Down, Dickens tried to extract few elements of his novels Bleak House and The Mystery of Edwin Drood, however he did end up as if launching an unfinished product. Undoubtedly Dickens has proved his mastery over short story writing through his earlier works of Christmas Stories and A Christmas Carol. However this story does not fall into the caliber of typical Dickens.
